NDA Exam for Girls

Earlier, the NDA exam was taken only by unmarried male candidates and female candidates were not allowed to take the exam. However, in an interim order passed by the Supreme Court of India on August 18, 2021, the court has allowed girls/ women to take the NDA exam.
A writ petition was filed by Kush Kalra in the Supreme Court for permission to allow NDA For women in 2021. The petition raises objections against the issue of violation of Articles 14, 15, 16, and 19 of the Constitution of India by not allowing the desired female candidates in the NDA Exam. In response to the same, Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Hrishikesh Roy have passed an interim order allowing the NDA for Female Candidates 2021.
Accordingly, the NDA application forms have been released for the female candidates. The decisions regarding the specifications like age criteria, nature of training, intake strength, training standards, and medical and physical standards are rested upon the Ministry of Defence. Apart from these, separate physical infrastructure and residential quarters with strict physical separation would be allotted to female candidates. This would include separate bathroom cubicles, swimming, equitation, games, and sports facilities.
